Clams Sukka (Tisreo)

Clams popularly known as “Tisreo” in Goa is a famous and delicious tasting shellfish. The clams are cooked in its shell itself chopping off one side of it. The Clams Sukka is a popular Goan Dish which is paired well with a Goan meal that is the Goan Rice, Fish and Curry.


  • Clams-500gms
  • Onion-2 medium
  • Tomato-1
  • Green chillies-1
  • Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
  • Garam masala-1 tsp 
  • Turmeric powder-½ tsp
  • Coconut-3tbsp
  • Coriander leaves-2tbsp
  • Tamarind pulp -2tbsp
  • Oil-2tbsp
  • Salt as per taste.


  • Deshell the clams by keeping one shell on, wash and apply salt
  • In a pan, add oil, once hot add the onions, green chillies and ginger garlic paste.
  • Then add the tomatoes and let it cook for 2 min
  • Add the turmeric powder, garam masala powder.
  • Add the clams and mix well, add ½ cup of water
  • Let it cook for 15 min.
  • Add the grated coconut and mix well, also add the tamarind pulp.
  • Let it cook for 3 min 
  • Turn off the flame and add chopped coriander leaves
  • Serve hot with steamed rice.
