Dry Fish Bombil (Bombay Duck) Salad

Fish is an integral part of the Goan diet. Well, dried salted fish is the favorite of every Goan. And is usually stocked up in every Goan’s household in the summers for the rainy season. The Dry Fish Bombil (Bombay Duck) Salad is a soury intense flavored side dish that is mostly accompanied by the Goan Fish Curry Rice or the Goan Fish Thali.

Here is a simple recipe to prepare the Goan dry fish dish that is The Dry Fish Bombil Salad.

Ingredients:

  • Dried bombil-5 pcs
  • Onions-2 medium
  • tomato-1
  • Green chilli-1
  • Lemon-1
  • Salt
  • vinegar-½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves-1tbsp
  • Coconut oil-1tbsp

Preparation:

  • Cut the dried bombil into inch size pieces, and fry them in coconut oil. Keep aside
  • Cut the onions and tomatoes  length wise, chop the green chillies finely.
  • In a bowl add the chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, fried bombil.
  • Then add lemon juice, vinegar, salt and coriander leaves. Mix well
  • The simple salad is ready to serve.
